Coody’s legal proceedings ended with his guilty plea to misdemeanor sexual battery. The court sentenced him to a year of probation, 40 hours of community service, and a $500 fine. Additionally, he was required to complete a psychos*xual evaluation, as well as an alcohol and drug course.

Kris Coody, born in 1965 in Georgia, grew up in Cochran. He completed his education there and earned his High School Diploma.

On March 10, 1989, he underwent training in handling Gsp Semi-Automatic Pistol, and from September 9, 1999, he participated in the State Patrol Annual Inservice training.

Starting from April 3, 1988, Kris embarked on his career with the Georgia State Patrol as a sergeant. He later transitioned to the Bleckley County Sheriff’s Office, becoming a Lieutenant from June 25, 2007, to June 1, 2008.

It’s worth noting that his tenure with the Georgia State Patrol came to an end in 2007 due to circumstances that led to his termination. Subsequently, he joined the Georgia Department Of Agriculture as a Peace Officer.

On June 2, 2011, he joined the Leckley County Sheriff’s Office as a Deputy Sheriff and was subsequently promoted to the ranks of Sergeant and Chief Deputy. On January 1, 2017, he assumed the role of Sheriff.
